Volatility

Definition, data example, and related pages

Volatility measures how much an asset's price fluctuates over time, commonly calculated as the standard deviation of daily returns. Higher volatility means larger and more frequent price swings in both directions; it is a measure of price movement, not of direction.

Bitcoin's daily return volatility (standard deviation) is 4.15%.
